Sailing Through My Thoughts
Sailing Through My Thoughts
Oil on Canvas Board, 16" x 20"
This one was spontaneous. I truly dove into this one without any plans at all, aside from the color I was going to start with. I like this one quite a bit myself, but I'm not sure what everyone else thinks when they look at it. My good buddy dislikes the flower, because it's made up, not a flower that exists in nature, ha. That kind of thing isn't important to me, really.
On the subject of flowers, I've been using them fairly regularly in these spontaneous pieces. Which is outside the norm for me, flowers aren't usually my thing. I'm not reading into it, I think it's just due to them being so convenient for color placement within the composition. But flowers aside, this piece did harken back to a number of older themes from my past paintings, such as the circular composition. Something circular in the distance, with a pathway leading into, or out of, across the foreground.
This one was a good mix of past and present for me.
